
Pharmacy Engagement Projects
Dopasi Foundation’s pharmacy engagement initiative tackles underreporting of TB cases by integrating pharmacies into TB notification systems through innovative digital applications like eTB and Rx-tracker applications. The aim was to identify and notify the un-reported people with TB who are being treated in the private sector and purchasing Anti-TB medication from pharmacies.
Activities Conducted Under the Approach:
Conducting advocacy campaigns targeting pharmacy networks.
Training of pharmacists on the digital application and TB notification protocols.
Rolling out the eTB application – pilot in 4 districts of Punjab then roll out in Balochistan.
Achievements to Date:
Achieved 23% additionality in TB notifications in intervention areas during piloting in Punjab
Identified almost 1000 PWTB from pharmacies in Balochistan during 2023-24
Project taken up by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for roll out in 57 districts, through Mercy Corps – Dopasi being the technical partner for advocacy and modification of application to Rx-tracker application
